Core Concepts/AI assessments

AI assessments

How the AI assesses each clause against your documents, and how you review its findings.

What an assessment does

An assessment checks every in-scope leaf clause and control of an adopted standard against your documents. For each clause, StayEvident retrieves the most relevant passages from your library and the AI returns:

  • A verdict — Conformant, Partial, Gap or Not addressed
  • A rationale explaining the verdict in plain language
  • Citations — links to the exact passages it relied on
  • A confidence level

The AI is guided by StayEvident’s own interpretation notes for each clause, but it only ever cites your documents.

Running an assessment

Open an adopted standard and choose Run assessment. Clauses are assessed in the background; the assessment page fills in as results arrive. Each clause assessed counts toward your plan’s monthly AI allowance. Excluded clauses are skipped — see Clauses, controls & scope.

Reviewing findings

AI proposes, humans dispose. Every finding starts Unreviewed. For each one you can:

  • Confirm it, accepting the AI’s verdict, or
  • Override it with a corrected verdict and a note explaining why

The original AI verdict is never changed. An overridden finding keeps both the AI’s view and your decision, and both are recorded in the audit trail.

Gaps

Clauses with a Gap or Partial verdict feed the standard’s gap register, so you can see everything outstanding in one place and decide how to close it. You might write a procedure, raise a CAPA or link evidence that the AI missed.

Evidence from findings

Passages the AI cited become proposed evidence for that clause. Confirm the ones that genuinely evidence the requirement — see Evidence linking.

Your data

Excerpts of your documents are sent to our AI providers only to produce the assessment. They’re never used to train models. See the privacy policy.
