Core Concepts/Evidence linking

Evidence linking

Connect documents and register records to the clauses they evidence.

An evidence link says “this record demonstrates conformance with this clause.” Evidence can be a document or any register record — a risk assessment, an internal audit, a CAPA, a training record, a supplier evaluation, a management review and so on. Links attach to leaf clauses and controls.

Evidence is the keystone of audit day. When an auditor asks “show me how you meet 9.2.2,” the answer is the clause’s confirmed evidence.

  • From AI assessments. Passages the AI cited become proposed evidence for the clause.
  • AI-proposed records. The AI can propose register records that look like evidence for a clause.
  • Manually. Open a clause’s evidence view from the standard and link any document or record yourself.

Proposed vs confirmed

AI-proposed links stay proposed until a person confirms or rejects them. Only confirmed evidence appears in audit-day mode and the audit pack PDF. Nothing reaches your auditor without a human decision.

Reusing evidence across standards

If you’ve adopted both ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001, evidence you confirm for a clause is offered for the equivalent clause of the other standard. Accept the suggestion to link it there too, or dismiss it. See Choosing standards.
